A new wine shop coming soon to St. Pete’s Grand Central District will offer a curated selection of unique, small-batch artisanal wines not available in big-box stores.
Simply named Neighborhood Wine Shop, the storefront is set to open this April in a 500-square-foot space at 2875 Central Avenue on the ground floor of the Driftwood on Central townhome community.
“St. Pete has plenty of bars but very few retail options for wine. We want to be the go-to shop for residents—whether they’re stopping by on their way home from work or picking up a bottle for a special occasion,” said owner Bryce Kennedy in a conversation with St. Pete Rising. “We’re bringing that hospitality-style service to retail to create a wonderful experience.”
Kennedy and his business partner Sydney Knowlton, both former employees of CellarMasters Wine Bar and Bottle Shop in the EDGE District, have extensive backgrounds in retail and bartending. They plan to stock 300 to 450 different wines, with most priced between $18 and just over $100.

Kennedy emphasized their focus on “real wines”, sometimes called natural wines, which are typically produced on a small scale using traditional methods rather than large-scale industrial techniques.
“You won’t be able to find our wines on the shelves of your local grocery store,” said Kennedy.
These wines are fermented with native yeast and made with minimal intervention, avoiding additives and chemicals.
“The wine-making process is incredibly hard and often overlooked. We want the wines we carry to tell a story,” Kennedy said.
In addition to wine, the shop will offer sake—a Japanese alcoholic beverage made from fermented rice—and a small selection of beer.
Customers will also find branded merchandise, including T-shirts, hoodies, hats, bags, and wine keys.
Eventually, Neighborhood Wine Shop plans to launch a wine club, host wine tastings, and launch an online shop.
They also hope to open a wine-focused bar in the future.
