Mason's Famous Lobster Rolls to expand in Florida with downtown St. Pete location
Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls plans to open its third eatery in Florida at 501 1st Avenue North, formerly the home of Stacie’s Cottage Café, in downtown St. Pete.
The fast-casual seafood restaurant chain, which was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in Annapolis, Maryland, has locations in Miami and Fort Myers. Its footprint also includes Delaware, Minnesota, North Carolina, South Carolina, Washington, D.C., Texas, Virginia, and Washington State.
In addition to its namesake lobster rolls, the restaurant’s menu also includes shrimp rolls, crab rolls, BLT rolls, New England clam chowder, lobster grilled cheese, lobster mac and cheese, lobster bisque, and salads, as well as Whoopie Pies for dessert.
Entrée prices range from $15 to $26. The menu also includes options for kids as well as beer, wine, and hard seltzers.
The restaurant also offers catering services, and it can ship fresh lobster roll kits, lobster meat, and Whoopie Pies nationwide.
According to the Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls website, founder Dan Beck worked in the restaurant industry as a seafood buyer for many years. In that role, he regularly visited Maine and became well acquainted with the state’s lobster fishermen, and he says his goal is to serve lobster rolls as authentically as possible.
Most Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls locations are open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays.
