ORANGE STATION AT THE EDGE WILL INCLUDE A MIX OF USES INCLUDING RESIDENTIAL, OFFICE, AND RETAIL, ALONG WITH A PUBLIC PLAZA.

New details have been revealed for a highly anticipated mixed-use project at 1300 1st Avenue North, the site of the former St Pete Police Department headquarters, in St. Pete’s EDGE District.

The project features an ambitious but thoughtfully designed blend of office, retail, and residential. The residential components include a 42-unit workforce apartment building named The WYE, paying homage to the triangular junction often found in railroads, and a 61-unit luxury condominium building named The Residences at Orange Station.

“The Residences at Orange Station could only have been conceived by this development team ─ locals who love this community and understand the character of this market,” said David Moyer of Smith & Associates Real Estate, the realtor for the project. “From green building principles to incorporating small businesses to featuring local art, this project is exactly what St. Pete needs, in the heart of the city.”

Sales for The Residences are expected to begin this spring.

The Residences at Orange Station will feature a courtyard with plunge pool, outdoor seating, and a fire table.

Pricing for The Residences will begin in the $600,000’s with floor plans ranging from one- to three-bedroom units with between 1,210 and 2,367 square feet.

The building will be the first LEED-certified green condominium tower in downtown St. Pete and will feature amenities such as a ground floor courtyard with plunge pool, outdoor seating, and a fire table. A sixth-floor amenity deck will include a resident lounge, outdoor terrace, fully equipped fitness center and wellness studio, and entertaining spaces.

"The EDGE is one of the most vibrant districts in all of Tampa Bay but the area doesn’t currently have a marquee destination. We think Orange Station will fill that role,” Bowen Arnold, Principal at DDA Development, previously told St Pete Rising.

The Residences will be complimented by 50,000 square feet of Class A office space and 14,000 square feet of ground floor retail space. A 600-space parking garage will also be included with 400 of those spaces open to the public.

A public plaza area at the southeast corner of the development will honor the “Courageous 12” St. Petersburg police officers responsible for forcing integration of the police department. Local artist Ya La’ford will be designing the monument.

The outdoor terrace will overlook Central Avenue, Booker Creek, and the downtown skyline.

Orange Station is a joint venture of J Square Developers, DDA Development, and Backstreets Capital, LLC, who have previously worked on projects in St. Petersburg, FL such as the Salvador, Ovation, St. James Townhomes, and The Nolen. Tim Clemmons of Place Architecture designed the development.

Demolition of the existing structures on the site is underway and construction is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2022.

A sales office led by Smith & Associates is expected to open soon on the 900 block of Central Avenue and units are expected to go direct to contract with no reservation period. For more information and sales information visit the website.
