Karma Juice Bar and Eatery to open new location on 1st Avenue South in downtown St. Pete
Karma Juice Bar and Eatery will open another location at 490 1st Avenue South in downtown St. Pete.
The eatery, which is replacing The Blend Coffee & Cocktails, will be in the lobby of an office building that houses L3 Technologies, Tampa Bay Times, Bank OZK, The Penny Hoarder, and law firm Johnson Pope.
Karma Juice Bar and Eatery was started 2015 by mother-daughter duo, Josie Barber and April Lupkey. Born in the Philippines and raised in the United States, Josie opened Karma because she recognized how food has the power to heal the body, mind, and soul.
The business operated at 209 1st Street NE in downtown St. Pete for several years before a devastating fire forced the relocation of the business to 1113 Central Avenue in the EDGE District.
The EDGE District location operated until 2022 when it closed to facilitate a move to 1804 4th Street North.
The menu of the new downtown St. Pete outpost will offer the same items found at their popular 4th Street and Clearwater outposts — acai bowls, salads, sandwiches, and smoothies — plus a new menu of tapas-style dishes created by Josie. Karma’s food is always made fresh upon ordering using the highest quality ingredients possible.
For acai bowls, try the Brainiac which features an acai base, banana, blueberries, pumpkin seeds, raisins, and chia seeds.
A popular sandwich is the Naanwhich that features avocado or chicken (or both), with hummus, roasted peppers, cucumber, tomato, spinach, kalamata olives, feta, and parsley inside of grilled naan.
One of the best-selling salads is The K.S.S. (kitchen sink salad) which is a bed of mixed greens topped by brussels sprouts, buttermilk squash, roused pepper, quinoa, beets, cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, feta, avocado, cranberries, hemp hearts, and walnuts, topped with Karma’s house dressing. Basically, everything but the kitchen sink!
To drink, try the Greenberry which includes kale, spinach, berries, banana, lemon, nut butter, and cinnamon. You can also customize your own smoothie!
The new location will open at 490 1st Avenue South on March 1st. Hours will be 7 am to 9 pm seven days a week. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date on all the latest news and food specials.
