A historic home in St. Petersburg’s Old Northeast neighborhood is St. Pete Rising’s Home of the Week.

Located at 445 17th Avenue Northeast, the two-story home has four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms with 2,978 square feet of living space. Situated on one of Old Northeast’s premier brick streets, the house flanked by 20th century homes that are full of history.

Built in 1920, the home features a tiled porch with lounging swing. The home has been tastefully renovated and includes hardwood flooring throughout, spacious living areas, a fireplace, separate dining area featuring a built-in dry bar, and a family room. The kitchen features modern gas appliances, an eat-in space, and an adjacent mud room with laundry facilities.

Upstairs has Florida pine hardwood floors with a substantial master bedroom, an updated en-suite bathroom, walk-in closets, and an additional adjoining sitting area or office space. Two other guest rooms and another full bath are also located upstairs.

Through the French doors, off the family room, is the backyard which includes a heated saltwater pool and hot tub, newly laid pavers, fresh landscaping, ambient LED lighting, and two pergolas. Follow the pool deck to a one-bedroom guest house that includes a full bathroom.

The Historic Old Northeast neighborhood was founded in the early 20th century as the first established subdivision in St. Petersburg. Prior to its development, it was agricultural land.

Today, the neighborhood includes narrow brick streets with granite curbing and signature hexagon block sidewalks. Another signature of the neighborhood is the mature tree canopy.

The Historic Old Northeast neighborhood was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003 and 445 17th Avenue Northeast was featured in the Historic Old Northeast Tour of Homes in 2016.

The home is currently listed by Vincent Arcuri with LPT Realty for $1.79 million.
