Sprouts Farmers Market, Badcock Furniture to open in Largo shopping plaza
Organic grocer Sprouts Farmers Market is growing its footprint in Pinellas County and will open a new store in Largo's Keene Plaza Shopping Center.
St. Petersburg-based commercial real estate firm Paradise Ventures, which is redeveloping the Sundial shopping complex in downtown St. Pete, is demolishing 35,500 square feet of retail space at the northeast end of the retail plaza to make way for two new tenants - Sprouts Farmers Market and Badcock Home Furniture & More, which will relocate its showroom on Missouri Avenue to the new space.
The 85,299-square-foot plaza, at the northwest corner of Keene Road and East Bay Drive, was previously anchored by a Save A Lot and Bealls Outlet.
“We are very pleased to revitalize this long-standing neighborhood shopping hub with a brand new Sprouts Farmers Market and to be working, once again, with the team at the City of Largo,” Paradise Ventures President and CEO Mike Connor said in a statement.
Sprouts operates locations in Clearwater, Palm Harbor, Seminole, and Kenneth City.
The grocer is opening a fifth 23,000-square-foot store in the Skyway Marina District in St. Pete, where it will anchor Sky Town, a 34.2-acre walkable residential and commercial community underway at the former Ceridian office campus.
In addition to the new tenant move-ins, the shopping center will get an overall facelift with infrastructure upgrades to the parking lot, lighting, and driveway.
The demolition commenced in February. The new tenant build-outs and plaza improvements will be completed by November.
Tarpon Springs-based Hawkins Construction is the general contractor.
Leasing opportunities are available in the center with spaces from 720 to 6,000 square feet, according to Paradise Ventures.
