Downtown St. Pete continues to be one of the hottest neighborhoods in Tampa Bay with nearly 1,700 residential units currently under construction and an additional 1,900 units proposed in the greater downtown area. Even with those mind boggling stats, supply is still struggling to keep up as more and more people are finding out about Downtown St. Pete.

One street that has seen significant change in the past few years is 4th Avenue South near USF St. Pete and the Innovation District. Since 2014 multiple new developments have sprouted up along this corridor including Campbell Landings, Camden Pier District (formerly known as AER), Beacon 430, Urban Landings, and The Sabal. Additionally, an Alabama developer is planning a 20 story condo tower on the corner of 4th Avenue S and 3rd Street S.

357 on 5th will join a number of new residential developments along 4th Ave S.

Now, another development is in the works! 357 on 5th, a seven story condominium building, is being proposed for the corner of 4th Avenue S and 5th Street S. Realtor Nick Janovsky, who is handling sales and marketing for the development said, “357 on 5th features modern, well-thought out homes designed to be perfect for downtown living.” While Janovsky has experience selling homes on both sides of the bay he notes that, “Buyers around the world are looking to Downtown St. Pete because of its walkability, culture, and vibrant food scene.”

St. Pete resident Julie Kessel is developing the project and sees a need for more mid-rise condominium buildings in Downtown St. Pete. In conceptualizing the project, Kessel wanted to combine a coastal oasis with the vibrancy of urban living.

In total, the building will feature 13 units including three two-story penthouses, eight homes with 3 beds, 2 baths offering 1,537 square feet, and two homes that will be 1 bed, 1.5 baths with 1,031 square feet.

Amenities include a sixth floor rooftop terrace, fenced dog-friendly courtyard, and an original sculpture commissioned by renowned local artist Ya La’Ford. La’Ford’s work can be seen throughout St. Pete including at the Downtown St. Pete Hyatt Place and at the Historic Manhattan Casino.

“The culture of downtown St. Petersburg is connected to the arts. Our downtown is brimming with a diverse spectrum of colors and unique art that enhances our city's artistic vitality. I was thrilled to be a part of 357 on 5th with a sculpture that reflects the energy of this vibrant part of town in such proximity to the Warehouse Arts District,” said Ya La’Ford.

Targeted completion is scheduled for December 2019 with pricing starting in the high $500's. As Downtown St. Petersburg, FL continues to grow, more projects like 357 on 5th are going to be needed to fill the increasing demand of people wanting to live downtown. We look forward to seeing this project come to life!
