Club Pilates to open north St. Pete fitness studio on 4th Street

The building that formerly housed Wave Pool & Grill Store, at 347 62nd Avenue North, finally has a new tenant: Club Pilates, a Pilates studio franchise based in Irvine, California.
Club Pilates has several existing locations in Pinellas County including one at 120 Central Avenue in downtown St. Petersburg, 6800 Gulfport Boulevard South in South Pasadena, 40956 U.S. Highway 19 North in Tarpon Springs, and 10125 Ulmerton Road, Suite 3, in Largo, as well as several more in Hillsborough County.
The opening date of the north St. Pete location is not yet known but signs are up and exterior and interior renovation work is under way.

According to Pinellas County property records, the 3,124-square-foot building is owned by Griffin Commercial Properties LLC, which acquired it in June last year from Aquatic Pools Inc. for $1.4 million. Wave Pool & Grill auctioned off most of its merchandise last summer before shuttering the store.
According to the Club Pilates North St. Pete Instagram account, the studio will offer reformer-based Pilates Classes taught by comprehensively trained instructors for students of all ages and experience levels.
In addition to reformers, the studio will also offer a wide range of other fitness equipment, including TRX, Exo-Chair, Bosu ball, mats, rollers, and more.
Club Pilates is part of Xponential Fitness, which, with more than 2,750 locations around the world, is one of the largest global franchise groups of boutique fitness brands. CycleBar, StretchLab, and Row House are also part of the Xponential Fitness portfolio.
The company was founded in 2017 by Anthony Geisler, who started his career in web development but moved into fitness in 2001 when he acquired LA Boxing, a boxing gym in Costa Mesa, California, and began to franchise the concept.
St. Pete Rising reached out via phone and email to Club Pilates but has yet to receive a response as to when the 4th Street North location will be open.
