Farm-to-table restaurant Naked Farmer to expand with new location on 4th Street North

Farm-to-table fast-casual restaurant Naked Farmer is planting deeper roots in St. Petersburg.

The St. Pete–born brand told St. Pete Rising it will open a second location in the Sunshine City next summer at 2631 4th Street North, a 1,920-square-foot space that previously housed EVOS.

The upcoming location marks another milestone in Naked Farmer’s rapid growth.

Founded in 2020 in downtown St. Pete, the restaurant has grown to eight locations across Florida, including Tampa, Coral Gables, Sunrise, Miami, Sarasota, and Fort Lauderdale.

Expansion outside the state is also underway, with upcoming restaurants in Nashville, TN and Charlotte, NC.

Since opening five years ago, Naked Farmer has become known for its focus on fresh, healthy, and high-quality meals.

The brand sources ingredients from small and medium-sized farms across Florida and the Southeast.

Its menu features vegetables harvested as recently as 24 hours before they’re served, along with responsibly sourced proteins and house-made dressings.

Naked Farmer’s summer menu features a Golden Beet & Burrata Salad, Summer BBQ Chicken Salad, Wild Mushroom Chimichurri Salad, Backyard BBQ Chicken Plate and more.

Plates can also be customized with proteins like charred chicken or grass-fed steak, paired with grains, greens, and sides that rotate with the seasons.

The 4th Street space has a long history of serving healthy food to St. Pete residents.

For 22 years, it was home to EVOS, a health-conscious fast-food chain that closed its doors in April.

A note still taped to the front door reads:

"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of the EVOS Saint Petersburg location. We are grateful for the 22 years of serving the community and appreciate all of your support as we navigated various storms, the pandemic and economic challenges together."

The letter goes on to thank loyal customers while encouraging the community to continue supporting small businesses that make a difference.

The transition feels fitting. While EVOS was known for healthier ingredients and eco-friendly practices, Naked Farmer has built a similar reputation by supporting local farmers and emphasizing sustainability.

Owner of Naked Farmer, Jordan Johnson | Naked Farmer

Naked Farmer’s story began with a dream. Founder Jordan Johnson opened the first location at 200 Central Avenue in April 2020, just as the COVID-19 pandemic forced restaurants to close.

Instead of halting, the brand pivoted quickly by launching “Naked Farmer’s Market,” selling produce boxes sourced directly from Florida farms. St. Pete Rising even helped to deliver these farm boxes during our fundraiser in 2020, which raised over $100,000 and delivered over 8,500 meals to frontline workers.

That quick-thinking move not only kept the business afloat but also introduced many residents to Naked Farmer’s mission of connecting communities to local farmers.

Rendering of the $1.5 million renovation to Naked Farmer’s downtown ST. Pete location | Naked Farmer

As work begins on the new 4th Street location, Naked Farmer is also reinvesting in its original St. Pete location at 200 Central, which closed in late July for a $1.5 million renovation.

The overhaul will expand the restaurant by 400 square feet, add a new kitchen exhaust, and completely refit the space with updated fixtures and finishes. The renovation will also double cooking capacity and pave the way for new menu formats, giving the brand greater flexibility in how it serves its guests.

The renovated location at 200 Central is expected to reopen in December. The new 4th Street restaurant will debut next summer.
