Pinellas County will soon get its first Shake Shack.
The popular burger chain plans to open at 1165 Park Boulevard in Seminole City Center, a 37-acre, open-air retail and restaurant plaza in Seminole.
The restaurant will take over the former Pieology Pizzeria space, according to a recently issued building permit for a partial demolition and interior buildout.
Pieology closed in June 2025, after eight years in business. Its parent company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy that December.
Shake Shack currently has more than 690 locations worldwide, including more than 445 in the U.S. and more than 245 internationally, according to its June 2026 company update.
Shake Shack’s existing Tampa Bay area locations include International Plaza and Midtown Tampa, as well as a Wesley Chapel restaurant that opened in 2024 with the area’s first Shake Shack drive-thru.

The chain began in 2001 as a hot dog cart in New York City’s Madison Square Park, launched to raise money for a public art project.
It has since grown into a national brand known for its made-to-order Angus beef burgers, crinkle-cut fries and frozen-custard shakes.
The menu includes the signature ShackBurger, chicken sandwiches, flat-top hot dogs, and the vegetarian Shroom Burger, which features a fried portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheeses.
Guests can also order fries with cheese sauce and hand-spun shakes made with frozen custard.
At Seminole City Center, Shake Shack will join nearby tenants CAVA and Verizon.
Elsewhere in the shopping center, Beach Pizza recently opened at 7724 113th Street North, while Pepe’s Cantina is preparing to open at 7756 113th Street North in the former Maple Street Biscuit Company space, as first reported by St. Pete Rising.
