Vegan restaurant Good Intentions coming soon to the Grand Central District

The interior of Good Intentions will have a vintage feel and feature soft greens with subtle pinks and dark blues. The U-shaped bar will serve a menu of classic cocktails in addition to an extensive selection of beer and wine.

A full-service New American vegan restaurant is opening in St. Pete’s Grand Central District this spring.

Good Intentions will be located at 1900 1st Avenue South between Creative Clay and Spitfire Comedy House and is being spearheaded by the owners of Golden Dinosaurs, Black Radish, and Nah Dogs.

Drawing influence and inspiration from their first vegan businesses, the owners will soon launch Good Intentions and expand on their vision of offering delicious, community-centric vegan food.

The restaurant will seat around 100 people within a 3,700 square foot quonset hut fronting 1st Avenue South. The building was recently vacant but previously housed offices for an environmental services company. Jake Wollman of KW Commercial was the listing agent for the property and Jenna Malowany of KW Commercial represented the tenant.

Good Intentions will focus on New American cuisine, a catch-all term for a cuisine that doesn’t fit any other categorization. Typically, New American gives chefs permission to be creative with their recipes.

Although the menu is still in development, diners can expect to enjoy a thoughtfully curated selection of elevated vegan items. None of the sandwiches from Golden Dinosaurs or hot dogs from Nah Dogs will be making their way to the Good Intentions menu. The owners want to bring something completely new to St. Pete.

The interior will have a vintage feel and feature soft greens with subtle pinks and dark blues. A U-shaped bar will serve a classic menu of Bloody Marys, sours, fizzes, spritzes, and an extensive beer and wine list. Non-alcoholic mocktails will also be available. The build out of the restaurant is being handled by Chris Leonard of Leonard Contractors.

“St. Pete’s vegan community has come so far over the years,” said the owners. “We are all friends and acquaintances. Instead of competing, we all try to push each other to do a little bit better.”

In a few short months, Good Intentions will join the ranks of St. Pete’s budding community of vegan businesses.

“I think St. Pete is going to love this,” they said. “When you’re vegan, you don’t want to eat at just one place all the time. You want to eat at a variety of places.”

Good Intentions is expected to open in spring 2022 at 1900 1st Avenue South. Hours of operation are yet to be determined but will focus on dinner service throughout the week and brunch on Saturday and Sunday.
