Chuck E. Cheese has introduced a new arcade concept built for adults, and it just landed at Tyrone Square Mall in west St. Pete.
Located at 6901 22nd Avenue North, tucked next to Old Navy near the food court, Chuck’s Arcade is nothing like the Chuck E. Cheese you might remember from decades past, though it still carries a little bit of that legacy along for the ride.
No pizza. No birthday songs. No singing animals. Instead, the space is packed wall to wall with arcade machines, both modern and a little retro, plus a redemption counter filled with Chuck E. Cheese-branded prizes.
Earlier this year, the company launched several mall-based arcades under the name “Fun Spot Arcade,” a more generic arcade experience with no recognizable branding.

That approach didn’t take off, so Chuck E. Cheese decided to give it a makeover.
In June, Fun Spot locations across the country were rebranded as Chuck’s Arcade, complete with a new look, new prizes, and a clear link to its parent brand.
The St. Pete arcade features more than 40 games, from racing and shooting to sports and rhythm. Some of the most popular titles on the floor include Halo: Fireteam Raven, NBA Superstars Slam Dunk, Luigi’s Mansion, Minecraft Dungeons, Super Bikes 3, and Connect 4 Hoops.
To play, players load a card with funds, tap to play, and earn digital tickets that can be redeemed at the new prize counter.
Items include Chuck E. Cheese–themed gear like plush toys, shirts, hats, cups, and jackets.

Visually, the arcade leans into a retro-futuristic vibe. The walls are wrapped in bold, space-themed wallpaper filled with colorful stripes, pixel icons, and floating Chuck’s Arcade logos surrounded by old-school joysticks and space invaders.
One of the most unexpected touches? A vintage animatronic. At the St. Pete location, Pasqually the Italian chef stands proudly on display. He’s no longer flipping pizzas or singing in a band, but for fans of classic Chuck E. Cheese lore, it’s a fun surprise.
Each Chuck’s Arcade around the country features a retired character, quietly watching over the fun.
“Chuck’s Arcade is a natural evolution,” said David McKillips, CEO of Chuck E. Cheese. “An opportunity to extend our arcade legacy into new formats that engage both lifelong fans and a new generation through a curated mix of retro classics and cutting-edge experiences.”

The company already operates more arcade machines than anyone else in the world, and Chuck’s Arcade gives them a new way to bring games into high-traffic mall environments.
The original Chuck E. Cheese restaurant in St. Pete, located nearby at 1028 58th Street North, is still open and going strong. It’s been around since 1983 and continues to offer the classic family-focused experience.
So if you haven’t stepped inside an arcade in a while, Chuck’s might surprise you. It’s modern, packed with games, and has just enough nostalgia to keep longtime fans smiling.
