Cinnaholic gourmet cinnamon rolls coming to 4th Street North
/Cinnaholic, a vegan bakery franchise specializing in customizable gourmet cinnamon rolls, is expanding in Tampa Bay with its first St. Petersburg sweet shop.
The Berkeley, California-based franchise will open a 1,225-square-foot shop at 5250 4th Street North in a space previously occupied by Nutrishop, which closed in September 2023.
An opening date has not yet been announced.
Cinnaholic, which has a South Tampa location, serves "create your own" cinnamon rolls with over 20 frosting flavors and more than 20 topping choices to select from.
Every baked good sold at Cinnaholic is 100% plant-based, dairy and lactose-free, egg-free, and cholesterol-free.
The first step in creating your cinnamon roll is electing a frosting flavor. The decadent diverse frosting flavors include almond, banana cream, cake batter, caramel, chai, coffee, crème brûlée, hazelnut, lemon, maple, marshmallow, peanut butter, raspberry, and more.
Next, the buns are topped with your choice of apples, bananas, blueberries, brownie bites, chocolate chip cookie bites, coconut, marshmallows, pie crumble, pretzels, raspberries, raspberry and strawberry jam, sprinkles, and more.
Customers can also order from Cinnaholic’s six signature rolls such as Cookie Monster, which is a roll with cream cheese frosting topped with homemade chocolate chip cookie dough, chocolate chips and chocolate sauce.
Another popular selection is Very Berry, which contains cake batter frosting topped with fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberry jam, and powdered sugar.
There are also seasonal items like the Pumpkin Spice Roll, Cinnamon Apple Cobbler Roll, and freshly baked pumpkin bread available during the fall.
If you’d like to try a variety of flavors, in addition to the regular-sized cinnamon rolls, customers can opt for bite-size Baby Buns.
The bakery also sells other sweets such as brownies, cookie cakes, and edible cookie dough.
Cinnaholic started as an independent, family-owned bakery in 2010. Founders Shannon and Florian Radke appeared on ABC's "Shark Tank" in 2014 to pitch their vegan cinnamon roll bakery franchise to the sharks.
The owners initially accepted a deal from investor Robert Herjavec; however, they later decided to go in a different direction and parted ways with Herjavec.
Since then, the company has opened over 100 locations across the U.S. and Canada.
When Cinnaholic opens its St. Pete shop, it will join neighboring tenants Metro Diner, South Beach Tanning Company, FedEx, Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa, T-Mobile, and Eastern Kitchen and Sushi in the retail strip.
