Crepeway Caffe to bring freshly-made crepes to St. Pete's EDGE District

THE CREPEWAY CAFFEE WILL OPEN AT 1572 Central Avenue IN ST. PETERSBURG’S EDGE DISTRICT | Crepeway Caffe

Crepeway Caffe, a new venture from Konstantinos Chilias, also known as Chef Dinos, will open by the end of February at 1572 Central Avenue, where it will be part of the EDGE Eatery food hall.

The restaurant was originally going to occupy 907 Central Avenue, a space that was formerly the home of Now and Then, a vintage furniture shop.

Chef Dinos has owned and operated La Creperia Café in Ybor City for nearly 20 years. In an interview with St. Pete Rising, he said Crepeway Caffe’s menu will be similar to that of La Creperia Café, except he plans to offer a larger assortment of breakfast items, including avocado toast, croissants, croque monsieur, croque madame, and a full coffee menu.

Located at 1729 East 7th Avenue in Ybor City, La Creperia Café’s menu features a wide variety of — you guessed it — crepes. Crepes are a French delicacy that can be thought of as very thin pancakes often stuffed with a variety of fillings. The crepes at Crepeway Caffe will range in price from $8 to $15 depending on the fillings.

“You can really eat crepes any time of the day,” Chef Dinos said. “When stuffed with eggs, cheese, and bacon, it makes a great breakfast. Or if it’s later in the day, a crepe with chicken and mushrooms is the perfect lunch or dinner. And of course, you won’t find a dessert more delicious than Nutella and fresh fruit folded into a crepe and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.”

In addition to sweet, savory, and breakfast crepes, the restaurant also serves sandwiches, wraps, salads, paninis, pastas, and homemade soups.

Crepeway Caffe will have a full liquor license, Chef Dinos said, and he will likely serve some unique creations such as Greek martinis.

“I’m going to use my imagination,” he said.

Because it’s part of the EDGE Eatery food hall, Crepeway Caffe will share its seating with neighboring restaurants, and it will have outdoor patio seating. Chef Dinos said he’s thrilled to finally be able to bring his food to St. Pete.

“I absolutely love downtown St. Pete,” he said. “There is a ton of foot traffic, dogs, and sunshine. It’s a beautiful city. It’s perfect.”
