Foxtail Coffee Co. will soon bring its signature craft coffee and cozy aesthetic to downtown Largo, becoming the first tenant announced for Liberty Yards, a modern two-story retail and restaurant development set to rise at the southwest corner of 4th Street Southwest and West Bay Drive.

Atlanta-based real estate investment firm The Ardent Companies, which acquired the site last year for $1.85 million from The Liberty Worship Center across the street, is behind the 11,175-square-foot project.

The development’s name, Liberty Yards, pays homage to the church and reflects Ardent’s intention to create a community-focused destination.

The Winter Park-based brand has expanded rapidly since launching in 2016 and now operates 88 locations across Florida and several other states. The coffee chain currently operates two other Pinellas County locations at 730 4th Street in St. Petersburg and 13501 Icot Boulevard in Clearwater.

Foxtail’s menu features coffee, cold brews on tap, seasonal lattes, and nitro drinks, complemented by artisanal pastries and hearty breakfast options in a cozy, rustic-inspired setting.

“We’re excited to bring Foxtail to the heart of Largo’s evolving downtown,” said Alex Tchekmeian, co-founder of Foxtail Coffee Co. “Liberty Yards shares our mission to create thoughtful, community-oriented spaces.”

Liberty Yards will feature a mix of ground-floor retail and restaurants, outdoor patio seating, and an open-air rooftop bar and dining area. Foxtail will occupy 1,800 square feet on one of the end cap spaces. The remaining 9,000 square feet will be geared toward Class A retailers.

Ardent is working with local engineering and design firms Kimley-Horn Associates and Phillips Partnership, with leasing handled by Colliers’ Jaclyn Langholz. The site will also include roughly 44 surface parking spaces, including shared use with the church.

Liberty Yards sits directly across from the Horizon West Bay development, an $81 million mixed-use project that includes a new Largo City Hall, 18,000 square feet of retail, and a parking garage. With 200 government employees expected to work on-site, the area is poised for increased foot traffic and economic activity.

Construction on Liberty Yards will begin this June, with a targeted opening in 2026.

While this is Ardent’s only active development in the Tampa Bay area, the firm has expressed interest in exploring additional opportunities in the region.
