New renderings reveal Foot Locker’s $20 million global HQ in north St. Pete

New renderings obtained by St. Pete Rising provide a first look at the planned buildout of Foot Locker’s new global headquarters in north St. Petersburg.

The company, previously based in New York City, signed a 110,998-square-foot lease in March to relocate its operations to 570 Carillon Parkway in the Carillon Business Park.

Foot Locker will occupy the first, third, and fourth floors of the five-story office building. The space was previously leased by Protect My Car and Tata Consulting Services.

The buildout of the office space is expected to cost $10.7 million, according to a permit application submitted to the City of St. Pete. An additional $14 million will be spent on furniture, fixtures, and equipment.

The new headquarters will be surrounded by major employers such as Raymond James Financial, Jabil, and Franklin Templeton.

The Carillon area also features entertainment destinations like TopGolf and is home to the developing Echelon City Center, a 20.5-acre mixed-use residential and retail district currently under construction.

Renderings created by TVS Architecture and Interior Design show Foot Locker’s plan to blend open work areas with secluded spaces and lounges where employees can relax and socialize.

The headquarters will celebrate the world of sports with a clean, modern design that includes nods to iconic sneaker collections and memorabilia displayed on the walls.

The headquarters will include open office space, breakout rooms, conference rooms, a game room, a hospitality bar, a tech bar, and a work café.

A new interior staircase will connect the two floors.

The interior will be furnished with leather chairs and couches, booth seating, and high-top bar seating to encourage employees to take breaks and enjoy coffee in a welcoming environment.

Tampa-based general contractor iConstructors is leading the buildout. The firm has completed numerous projects across the Tampa Bay area, including buildouts for JetBlue, Industrious, Carlton Fields, Valpak, HSN, and more.

Foot Locker is expected to move into the new headquarters later this year, joining other tenants in the 250,000-square-foot building, including Zelis Payments, Condominium Associates, D&A Services LLC, American Coastal Insurance, and Monopoly Group Real Estate.

As part of an approved incentive package from the City of St. Pete, Foot Locker has committed to investing at least $20 million in the new headquarters and creating 150 new jobs with an average annual salary of $120,000.

The new headquarters is projected to contribute $18 million to the local payroll and generate an estimated $37 million in economic impact.

Currently, Foot Locker employs 156 people at its global headquarters in New York City and plans to maintain a minimal presence there following the relocation to St. Petersburg.

“We’re proud to establish our new headquarters in St. Petersburg, a city that has warmly welcomed Foot Locker Inc.,” Foot Locker President Frank Bracken said in the earlier relocation announcement.

“As we accelerate our Lace Up Plan [relaunch of the brand and real estate strategy], we believe the metropolitan Tampa Bay area provides the perfect environment to align our internal teams, attract top talent, and connect with the local community.”
