Pinellas Farmers and Flea Market finds new home at Derby Lane in St. Pete

More than 150 vendors attend the The Pinellas Farmers & Flea Market each weekend at Win! Derby, formerly known as Derby Lane | Win! Derby

A popular farmers and flea market has officially made the move from Largo to St. Pete, bringing its wide mix of vendors to a new audience.

The Pinellas Farmers & Flea Market now takes place every weekend at 10490 Gandy Boulevard at Win! Derby, formerly known as Derby Lane.

The outdoor, pet-friendly market features more than 150 vendors each weekend, many of whom were longtime regulars at the former Wagon Wheel Flea Market in Pinellas Park before it closed in 2020.

Shoppers can browse a wide range of offerings, including fresh produce, plants, secondhand goods, and prepared foods from around the world.

The Pinellas Farmers & Flea Market is held every Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine.

Admission is free, and free parking is available for all visitors.

Owner and operator Shawn Yang says the market’s relocation to St. Pete has helped broaden its reach and introduce the event to new crowds.

Yang launched the market at 13600 Icot Boulevard in Largo in late 2021, but had to relocate after Pinellas County purchased the property for a new government campus.

The market ultimately found a permanent home at Win! Derby last fall and has been hosting its weekly gatherings there ever since.

One of the market’s biggest draws is its food court, which features vendors cooking meals fresh on-site. A small number of tables are available for visitors who want to sit and eat.

“We have everything from barbecue, hot dogs, and Mexican food to Vietnamese, Filipino, Laotian, and Cambodian food,” Yang said. “There’s really so much variety, and everything is cooked fresh on-site.”

The 130-acre site was purchased last year by Connecticut-based Rally Development, which has stated plans to develop the property in a way that benefits the surrounding community.

“The property’s new owners have a community-centered vision for the site, and the market fits well within that vision,” Yang said.

Win! Derby also hosts the popular Mega Night Market each month, a high-energy, entertainment-driven event featuring vendors, food, and live attractions.

While greyhound racing has ended, poker and other table games remain a major draw at Win! Derby, and the weekend markets are bringing a new wave of visitors to the massive property.
