Downtown Developments Sept 2019: A Dessert Restaurant Announced and More!

With everything going on in Downtown St. Pete last month, this column could’ve easily been twice as long. As always, we’re here to bring you the CliffsNotes, by sharing what we feel are the most significant stories from the past month.

Along with the updates below, a handful of new businesses opened including a sauna studio, an art gallery, a boba tea cafe, a waterfront restaurant, and a restaurant and bar serving global tapas. Additionally, an apartment development wrapped up construction and began move-ins, a proposed condo tower gained Council’s approval, and an older apartment community announced major renovations. Lastly, we learned about the future expansion of a local men’s barbershop.

Downtown Developments August 2019: 36-Story Condo & Hotel Tower Announced and More!

The summer is usually St. Pete’s slow season, but this July was jam-packed with Downtown St. Pete news. Along with the updates in this month's Downtown Developments, an expansion of the Museum of History was announced, plans move forward for the old Police HQ, a senior housing development is coming to the Tyrone area, and a fire broke out at a popular downtown restaurant, which prompted a temporary relocation.

Despite the blisteringly hot weather, May was a good month for St. Pete. In addition to the exciting things we’ve highlighted below, Hometown Crepes and Baum Mi started serving food at Baum Avenue Market, a new liquor store opened in the EDGE District, and seven proposals were submitted to replace the old Police HQ.

Downtown Developments May 2019: The Dali to Expand and More!

Here’s the latest on what’s new in Downtown St. Pete. On top of what we’ve highlighted below, an Israeli burger chain will be coming soon to the ONE St Pete condo tower, a tea lounge opened up in the Grand Central District, a barbershop from Portland announced plans to open on the 600 block, pre-sales began for downtown’s next condo tower, and the historic McCrory building was sold.
