Name: ONE St.Petersburg Stories: 41 Units: 253 condos, 174 hotel
I'm a little late with this post but nonetheless I'm very excited to tell you about ONE St.Petersburg, a huge new project in the heart of downtown. ONE St.Petersburg will be a 41 story, 253 unit condo tower complemented by a garage and retail base along with a second tower featuring 174 hotel rooms.
The Kolter Group is developing this $120 million project that will likely become St.Petersburg's tallest building. ONE St.Petersburg is located on Central Avenue, one block from Beach Drive and Sundial St.Pete on the site formally known as the Tropicana block. The sales center should open onsite in the coming weeks but groundbreaking isn't expected until early 2016 with completion in 2018.
This project is among many other recently announced condo projects that continue to hit the Downtown St.Pete market. Add this to the numerous apartment projects under construction or recently completed and you get a booming urban center. Let's hope this is only the beginning for Downtown St. Petersburg.

St. Petersburg, Florida – The tallest building in downtown, One Progress Plaza at 200 Central Ave., is 389 feet tall, but a new building will rival that height.
"I think this is very big deal," said Brian Van Slyke, a development executive with the Kolter Group, the company in charge of building the new tower. "One St. Petersburg is located at the center of downtown St. Pete."

The 450-foot tall, 41-story building will be a block from Beach Drive NE and bounded by Central Avenue and 1st Avenue N., and 1st and 2nd streets, which is currently a dirt lot used for parking.
"You're going to see a beautiful modern architecture on a residential building," Van Slyke told 10 News on Friday afternoon.
Work crews are in the early stages of clearing the land, planting tree and decorating a single building on the lot that will be used at a sale gallery.
One St. Petersburg will include 253 luxury condos with units ranging from 1,400 square feet to up to 2,500 square feet and prices starting at $600,000.
"Seventy-five percent of our units will have clear direct views to the east."
In addition to the residents, there will be a 174-room hotel, restaurant and meeting spaces in addition to an elevated pool deck among the amenities that are planned.
"It's going to add a lot of vibrancy. It's going to fill in this hole in the core that we have now in downtown St. Pete. It will connect what's going on on Center to Beach."
The sales gallery will open to the public in the coming weeks with official groundbreaking to take place in March 2016. Construction is expected to be completed by 2018.
