Louisiana-based fried chicken chain Raising Cane's is bringing its crispy tenders and tangy sauce to St. Pete.

The growing franchise plans to open its first St. Petersburg restaurant at 6901 22nd Avenue North at Tyrone Square Mall, according to a recently filed permit application.

The St. Pete property is currently owned by Ohio-based Allied Stores General Real Estate Company, which is tied to Ronald Tysoe, Director at CINTAS and former Vice Chairman of Macy's Inc.

The new location will become the chain's third Tampa Bay location.

The first local Raising Cane's drive-thru opened in 2023 on Gulf to Bay Boulevard in Clearwater after the company purchased the site for $4.5 million and demolished a former Village Inn restaurant.

A couple of months later, the fast-food chain opened a second location in Clearwater at 4835 East Bay Drive.

The new Raising Cane's restaurant will serve their signature chicken tenders brushed with a special marinade and fried in a Canola Oil mix, delivered with a side of their special Cane's sauce, which is a blend of mayo, ketchup, Worcestershire, and spices.

Raising Cane's three-, four-, and six-piece chicken tender combos come with crinkle-cut fries, Texas Toast, coleslaw, and a drink to wash it all down.

The combos start at $5.19 for the kids' meal.

It also sells "tailgate" platters of chicken tenders and lemonade and sweet tea by the gallon.

A timeline for the St. Pete location has not been announced; however, the franchise typically opens its 3,000-square-foot restaurants within a year once construction commences.

Raising Cane's has started the hiring process and is seeking a General Manager to run daily operations.

The existing stores open every day at 10 a.m. The closing time varies at different locations, but they usually close at midnight from Sunday through Thursday and stay open until 1:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

The company is reportedly adding more locations in Tampa, Brandon, and Carrollwood.
