Construction has officially begun on Medina 405, a members-only social club planned for the basement of the historic Snell Arcade in downtown St. Pete.
With construction permits approved by the City of St. Pete, interior buildout is now underway on the 9,240-square-foot space at 405 Central Avenue, with the club expected to open in late 2026.
Medina 405 is being developed by Benjamin Mandell, Founder and CEO of Tricera Capital.
The club will be a private gathering place for St. Petersburg’s business, civic, and creative communities inside one of downtown’s most recognizable historic buildings.

One of the most distinctive elements of the club will be a wine cellar located within a historic underground tunnel, which is rumored to have been used to transport liquor during Prohibition in the 1920s.
The space is being restored and reimagined as a defining centerpiece of the club, with an adjacent wine and champagne bar designed for tastings and member gatherings.
Additional amenities will include a billiards lounge, golf simulator, podcast studio, and a small media screening room intended for private film previews and events.
Members will also have access to a library, office cabanas, conference rooms, and private meeting areas.
“We’re building Medina 405 deliberately,” said Managing Partner Ben Mandell in a press release. “This project is about long-term quality and member experience. Every decision reflects that standard. We believe St. Petersburg is ready for a private club that prioritizes authentic connection, intentional collaboration, and refined culture.”

The nearly century-old Snell Arcade, where Medina 405 will be situated, is considered to be one of downtown’s most historically significant buildings.
The eight-story structure was completed in 1928 by developer C. Perry Snell, the visionary behind several early St. Pete neighborhoods and developments including Snell Isle.
Designed in the Mediterranean Revival style, the Snell Arcade quickly became a centerpiece of downtown commerce.
In 1982, the Snell Arcade was added to the National Register of Historic Places, cementing its status as a landmark of the city’s early development era.
Inside Medina 405, interior designer Britany Stevenson of DAME Design Studio has drawn inspiration from both the building’s Art Deco-era heritage and Mediterranean influences, with architectural details, layered textures, and curated artwork.

The project team also includes St. Pete architect Paul Ries of AHA Architecture Studio and Rod Huffman of St. Pete-based Huffman General Contractors.
Membership at the club will be selective and application-based. Pricing has not been announced yet.
Those interested in becoming members can apply through Medina 405’s website.
