A popular farm-to-table restaurant with local roots is returning to downtown St. Pete.

After a nine-month closure for renovations, Naked Farmer will reopen its flagship restaurant at 200 Central Avenue on Friday, March 27th.

The restaurant temporarily closed last July to complete a $1.5 million renovation designed to expand the kitchen and improve the overall guest experience.

The project included a roughly 400-square-foot kitchen expansion, a new exhaust system, and a refreshed interior aesthetic.

The upgrades will allow Naked Farmer to offer new menu options and help the restaurant keep pace with demand in downtown St. Pete, where it first launched six years ago.

Founded by CEO Jordan Johnson, Naked Farmer focuses on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients prepared from scratch.

At the center of Naked Farmer’s menu is its lineup of “Harvest Plates,” which allow guests to select a main protein paired with a grain or greens base and two seasonal sides.

Protein options include grass-fed steak, Faroe Island salmon, rosemary roasted chicken breast, charred chicken thigh, honey BBQ chicken, and a roasted blue oyster mushroom mix for plant-based diners.

Vegetables and sides rotate with the seasons, but current offerings include maple-glazed carrots topped with oats and pumpkin seeds, crispy smashed potatoes finished with parmesan and lemon, roasted sweet potatoes, charred broccoli with lemon and garlic, green beans with crispy shallots, and street cart corn with lime, cotija cheese, and chili flakes.

Grains and greens include brown rice with parsley, winter citrus farro, and fresh farm greens.

Guests can also opt for chef-curated plates.

One of Naked Farmer’s most popular items is the Classic Naked Plate, a year-round staple that combines charred chicken, mac and cheese, pecan kale Caesar salad, brown rice with parsley, and garlic aioli.

The restaurant’s current winter menu includes dishes like the Seared Salmon Salad with Faroe Island salmon, sesame crunch, chimi-lime avocado, cucumbers, radish, and spicy miso aioli dressing, as well as the Harvest Chop Salad with winter citrus farro, sweet potatoes, candied pecans, goat cheese, crispy shallots, and white balsamic vinaigrette.

Also on the winter menu is a Steak & Mushroom Plate featuring grass-fed steak, roasted blue oyster mushrooms, green beans with crispy shallots, and crispy smashed potatoes and a Southern Comfort Plate with rosemary roasted chicken, winter spiced farro, mac and cheese, roasted sweet potatoes, and pecan kale Caesar salad.

The menu is designed to accommodate a wide range of dietary preferences, with numerous vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options alongside traditional meat and seafood dishes.

Since opening its first location in downtown St. Pete in 2020, Naked Farmer has expanded rapidly across Florida and beyond.

The company now operates locations in Tampa, Sarasota, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Sunrise, and Coral Gables, along with a recently opened restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Further expansion is underway, with future locations planned for Nashville, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, and Wesley Chapel.

Naked Farmer is also preparing to open a second St. Petersburg restaurant later this summer at 2631 4th Street North, the former home of health-focused fast-food restaurant EVOS.

Once the downtown location reopens, Naked Farmer will resume operating hours of 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
