The qargo coffee shop will open in downtown st. pete on april 18th | st. pete rising

Qargo Coffee, a small but rapidly growing coffee company headquartered in Miami, is bringing its Italian coffee and pastries to downtown St. Pete.

The company will open a new 1,200-square-foot café at 924 Central Avenue, located at the base of the 930 Central Flats apartment building. The space was previously home to Indian restaurant Spice Culture Express.

While no opening date has been set, the interior buildout of the café is complete and employee training has begun.

The concept was first announced on St. Pete Rising in September 2023.

This will be Qargo’s second location in the Tampa Bay region. The company currently operates a kiosk-style café in Tampa's International Plaza and Bay Street mall.

Qargo Coffee uses beans from Lavazza, Italy’s most popular coffee roaster, for its drip coffee, cold brew, and espresso-based drinks.

Each Qargo location offers exclusive specialty drinks. The International Plaza location, for example, features four unique options: Guava Bay Spritz, Guava Bay Cold Brew, Choco Flan Latte, and Guava Java Latte.

The St. Pete café will introduce drinks like the Key Lime Latte, Key Lime Frappe, and Sunrise Mango—a refreshing blend of spicy mango, orange juice, and club soda served over ice.

In addition to coffee, Qargo will serve plant-based Lotus Plant Energy smoothies and “coolers” in fruity flavors such as Watermelon, Mother of Dragons (dragonfruit), Mango Colada, and Strawberries & Cream.

Boba teas will also be available, featuring flavors like Sweet Black, Espresso Rose, and Spicy Chai.

Kids' beverages, such as Babyccino, Marshmallow Mocca, and Ice-Ice Baby, will also be offered.

Italian desserts on the menu will include tiramisu, French macarons, fruit tarts, torta nocciola (a hazelnut cake commonly paired with coffee), pistachio and dulce de leche cheesecakes, and assorted cakes.

For those craving a savory breakfast or lunch, Qargo will offer bagel and croissant sandwiches like the Italian Classic—made with prosciutto and mozzarella—and the Veggie Caprese, stacked with tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil, finished with a balsamic drizzle.

Hours for the St. Pete location have not yet been announced. However, the Qargo kiosk in Tampa is open from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
