Just off Interstate 275 and Gandy Boulevard, a new five-building warehouse complex housing exotic and rare sports cars has opened.

In what is dubbed as St. Petersburg's first “car condo community,” Motocave is a new destination designed for car enthusiasts needing secure car storage with a custom “man cave.”

The concept was brought to life by real estate developers Bowen Arnold of Tampa-based DDA Development, Scott Clendening of St. Petersburg Commercial Partners Realty, and Matt Mosk of Largo-based Mosk Development Co.

Located at 2051 Gandy Boulevard, the 55,000-square-foot complex features 43 air-conditioned fully customizable car condos with units ranging from 918 to 1,591 square feet. The units can also store boats and motorhomes.

“Motocave is a unique destination for automotive luxury storage needs. Our units are a blank canvas for anyone looking to create a personal, lifestyle experience around their car or luxury RV. We can add whatever amenity an owner wants from lifts and machinery to TVs and sound systems,” Arnold said in a statement.

Each condo includes insulated walls, a bathroom, and several windows; however, a wet bar and a second-floor mezzanine loft, among other features, can be added for an additional fee.

“The development responds to a growing trend in car condo communities, offering discerning car enthusiasts the opportunity to own a customizable space to store and enjoy their vehicles. Beyond storage, Motocave is building a community, making it an exciting destination for automotive aficionados in the region,” a press release read.

Motocave also includes a roughly 2,200-square-foot, two-story community clubhouse that can host car-related events for the tenants and has a car detail station, showers, and bathrooms.

Construction commenced in 2022 with general contractor Atlas Building Company leading the buildout. Atlas also worked on Wheel Base, a Sarasota car condo complex.

In 2023, the partners said over 50% of the units had been sold or were under contract. Several Motocave units are still available, according to the company website.

While this is the first for St. Pete, nearby condo car concepts include the Motor Enclave in Tampa and the Luxe Dream Garage in Lakewood Ranch.
