Pete's Bagels debuts co-working space in Gulfport
/Steven Peterman, owner behind the beloved St. Pete bagel shop Pete's Bagels, is launching a new venture—a co-working space in Gulfport.
Monday Morning Club will be designed to resemble a vintage diner, bringing a taste of fun nostalgia to 1401 49th Street South.
Members will enjoy free WiFi, complimentary coffee from St. Pete-based Look Alive Coffee, free bagels from Pete’s every Friday, and discounts on events and space rentals.
“I have always wanted to open a diner,” Peterman said to St. Pete Rising. “But this space isn’t really set up for a restaurant.”
The 1,965-square-foot building is next door to Pete's Bagels new production kitchen, formerly home to Rico’s Pizza.
“We leased this space a while ago and currently use it for storage. With the damage and destruction from the recent hurricanes, a lot of people lost their offices and that’s pushed us to get this open,” Peterman added.
The space has been outfitted with vintage diner checkered flooring as well as globe lights above booths that Peterman found at a pizza shop in Land O’ Lakes.
“I grew up in New Jersey have been going to diners my whole life,” Peterman said about creating a similar aesthetic at Monday Morning Club.
The Monday Morning Club will debut on Monday, November 4th.
Memberships are available for $50 per month. However, those impacted by the recent hurricanes can send Pete’s a message on Instagram to receive free access for the first month.
Those who sign up before Monday’s opening will receive half-off.
“We are pricing it as affordable as possible,” Peterman said. “We are not looking to get rich off of this.”
Day passes and the option to rent the entire space for special events such as corporate parties and photoshoots are also be available.
Monday Morning Club will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Memberships can be purchased here.
