Construction set to begin on luxury townhomes in St. Pete's Methodist Town

Husband-and-wife team Max and Kaitlin Vollmer are capitalizing on St. Pete's growing residential market by bringing new townhomes to a historic neighborhood.

The Vollmers, working with local custom homebuilder Kelner Homes, are set to begin construction on a new five-unit upscale townhome community at 375 13th Street North across from Unity Park.

The planned complex, dubbed Sunset Palms Luxury Townhomes, is located in St. Pete's Methodist Town neighborhood, a community established in the late 1800s just north of the EDGE District.

Vegan and gluten-free eatery to replace The Chelsea coffee shop in the Warehouse Arts District

The gluten-free and vegan HaleLife bakery and bistro, known for its decadent treats and savory breakfast dishes, will open a second St. Pete storefront in the Warehouse Arts District.

HaleLife founder Laura McCutcheon has signed a lease to operate the bistro at 2462 5th Avenue South, which most recently housed The Chelsea, a beloved cozy coffee shop that debuted in 2021.

The HaleLife Bistro will open this July in the 800-square-foot space, making it the local business's fourth Tampa Bay storefront.

McCutcheon and her son, Taylor Miller, both diagnosed with Celiac Disease in the early 2000s, set out on a mission to serve gluten-free, dairy-, soy- & egg-free baked goods, opening their first Tampa store in 2017.

Developers of 400 Central reveal new renderings and vision for retail space

The developers of The Residences at 400 Central, Red Apple Group, have revealed their vision for the ground floor retail space of what will soon become the tallest building in St. Petersburg.

The 46-story condominium tower is being built by Suffolk Construction at 400 Central Avenue in downtown St. Pete. When complete, the 1.3 million-square-foot project will soar 515 feet high, featuring 301 luxury condo units, 60,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and restaurants, 900 parking spaces, and 45,000 square feet of Class A office space.

Construction benchmarks are on the horizon, with the project expected to top out in late summer, becoming the tallest residential building on Florida’s west coast.

A South Tampa staple for tasty tacos and margaritas is making its way to St. Pete.

The beloved modern Mexican restaurant Green Lemon plans to open a St. Pete outpost on 4th Street this fall.

The Ciccio Restaurant Group (CRG), the parent company of local restaurant concepts such as Fresh Kitchen, Taco Dirty, and Daily Eats, will debut the new 150-seat Green Lemon at 4400 4th Street North, the former home of Baytenders Oyster Bar & Steamers, which closed in 2019.

Irish party bar The Dublin Drop to debut this winter in downtown St. Pete

The team behind a handful of popular downtown bars including One Night Stand, Pour Judgement, and Whiskey Exchange will open a new Irish-themed party bar called The Dublin Drop in downtown St. Pete.

The bar, which is expected to open by the end of the year, will occupy 3,000 square feet at 129 1st Avenue North in a space connected to There Goes The Neighborhood, another upcoming bar set to debut this winter by the Drink St. Pete hospitality group.

Although The Dublin Drop will serve Irish whiskies and beer, owner Michael Jennings wouldn’t consider it an authentic Irish bar.
