Pinellas County recently selected Manhattan Construction Group as the construction manager to oversee the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport's $110 million expansion.

The project will add more gates for existing and future airlines, consolidate the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoints, construct a new level for passenger boarding, and add space for new food and beverage vendors.

Pinellas County previously approved an agreement for the airport to enter into a $14.33 million contract with New York-based C&S Companies to design and construct the new and expanded terminal.

The county then began soliciting firms to serve as a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) through a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) process.

Manhattan Construction was one of several respondents vying to work with C&S Companies.

Airport officials expect to commence construction of the expansion in 2026.

Manhattan Construction Co. has worked on numerous aviation projects throughout the U.S. including at Tampa International Airport.
