St. Pete speakeasy The Saint to be replaced with new concept

The Saint, a popular LGBTQ+ speakeasy that debuted in St. Pete in 2020, is closing its doors as it will be replaced by a new concept | The Saint

Upscale speakeasy The Saint, a nightlife hot spot in St. Pete's Grand Central District, will close and rebrand into a new concept.

Owner David Fischer, who founded a string of St. Pete LGBTQ-focused bars and destinations such as the Cocktail St. Pete nightclub and The Wet Spot pool bar, announced that after a four-year saga, The Saint will officially close its doors at 49 24th Street North later this year.

"Themed bars have become the norm in St. Petersburg and we wanted to make sure The Saint went out on top. The Saint is a completely unique place and the first speakeasy of its kind in St. Pete; we have so many amazing memories and moving on is bittersweet," Fischer wrote in a press release.

"With weekends still seeing a packed, sold-out speakeasy, most owners wouldn’t make this bold move, but we believe that Pour Behavior is known for pushing the envelope and innovating new experiences."

The Saint’s final service will be in early November. The official closing date will be announced soon.

Company Pour Behavior has completed the development and design process for the new concept, which has yet to be revealed.

“We’re creating something that St. Pete has never seen. The Saint is known for pushing boundaries, and we’re going to continue to do so. The space will be incredibly immersive, but it will also evolve with our rapidly growing city. Our entire team is thrilled to bring this concept to life, and we can’t wait to share it with you. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to each and every sinner who has walked through our confessional,” Fischer said.

“This journey has been amazing, and none of it could have been possible without our incredible team of spiritual hosts, bar staff, managers, entertainers, and culinary staff. We’re deeply appreciative of everything they’ve done to bring The Saint to life each day."

Pour Behavior intends to retain all of the employees at The Saint as it transitions to the new concept. The company will also hire additional new staff.

The Saint, which hosts a series of private events and burlesque shows, will continue serving sinners through November. Reservations can be made here.
