Mexican restaurant chain Qdoba to open on 4th Street

QDOBA MExican eats will replace the closed bolay fresh bold kitchen restaurant space on 4th street | qdoba mexican eats

Qdoba Mexican Eats, a restaurant chain known for its build-your-own burritos and bowls, is opening its first Pinellas County location on 4th Street North in St. Pete.

The San Diego-based chain plans to open at 1330 4th Street North in the 2,100-square-foot space formerly occupied by Bolay Fresh Bold Kitchen. Mediterranean fast-casual restaurant CAVA and an AT&T store are also located in the plaza.

Chris Gannon, son of Outback Steakhouse Founder Tim Gannon, opened Bolay on 4th Street in 2021. It permanently closed earlier this year.

Similar to other build-your-own-bowl restaurant chains in St. Pete, such as competitor Chipotle Mexican Grill, Qdoba customers can customize bowls, tacos, burritos, salads, and nachos with proteins like pulled pork, grilled chicken, grilled steak (or the new habanero lime steak), ground beef, or brisket birria, which is shredded beef slow-cooked with chiles and garlic.

Topping and fillings include fajita vegetables, fresh cilantro, shredded cheese, sour cream, jalapenos, pico de gallo, and other salsas.

Add-ons like guacamole and queso can be added with no extra charge.

For more daring customers, there are spicier toppings to bring more heat such as the habanero salsa and queso diablo.

The prices for the bowls start at $9.99.

The chain offers delivery, catering, and pick-up orders.

The opening date for Qdoba on 4th Street has not been announced; however, earlier this month, Qdoba announced plans for 39 new franchise locations across the United States.

Qdoba, founded in 1995 in Denver, Colorado, now has over 750 locations in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.

The planned franchise expansion is part of a greater effort to have 1,500 locations over the next seven years.

While has Qdoba has existing locations in Tampa, Riverview, and Brandon, this will be the first location in Pinellas County.
