$27 million penthouse sale at Waldorf Astoria Residences in downtown St. Pete shatters Tampa Bay condo record

A local business leader has purchased a two-story penthouse atop the planned 50-story Waldorf Astoria Residences tower in downtown St. Petersburg for $27 million.
Planned for 150 2nd Avenue South, the Waldorf Astoria Residences will be the city’s tallest building and the first five-star branded condo tower in St. Petersburg. The project will include 163 condominiums, 73,000 square feet of Class A office space, 10,000 square feet of ground-floor retail, and a wide range of luxury amenities.
The sale of the 11,000-square-foot rooftop unit has shattered the record for the most expensive condominium ever sold in the Tampa Bay area.
The previous high in St. Pete was an $8.25 million penthouse at Saltaire, located next to the proposed Waldorf Astoria tower in downtown St. Pete, which sold in 2024. In Tampa, the record was an $11.6 million penthouse at the Ritz-Carlton Residences, sold in 2021.

The identity of the buyer was not disclosed; however, the homeowner is described as a “local business leader and longtime supporter of St. Petersburg.”
The record-breaking unit will occupy the 49th and 50th floors and feature a 50-foot rooftop pool with views of Tampa Bay, along with a private movie theater.
The $500 million tower, slated for completion in 2030, will be managed by Hilton.
The project is being co-developed by Miami-based Property Markets Group and St. Petersburg-based Feldman Equities, who own the adjacent City Center office building. Vancouver-based City Office REIT and Orlando-based Tower Realty Partners are also involved. Smith & Associates Real Estate is overseeing the sales.

Sales for the Waldorf Astoria Residences launched in late April, and 10% of the condos have already sold.
Pricing for the luxury condos starts at $2.5 million.
“This record-breaking sale of the penthouse at Waldorf Astoria Residences St. Petersburg speaks to the extraordinary flight to quality we’re seeing in the area as it evolves into a world-class waterfront destination,” Kevin Maloney, founder and CEO of PMG, said in a statement.
“There’s a real energy in St. Petersburg right now, with a growing demand for elevated, design-driven living in energetic urban settings, and this project reflects that momentum. We’re proud to be a part of shaping the next chapter of the city and its skyline.”
Designed by CUBE 3, with interiors curated by design firm BAMO, the tower will be cantilevered over a 17-story podium, creating the illusion that it’s floating.

The building will feature a double-height ground floor, 11 levels of parking with 754 parking spaces, and facilities for both long-term and short-term bicycle storage.
Each fully finished two- and three-bedroom residence, ranging from 2,031 to 3,408 square feet, will include a private entry foyer and balconies offering views of the bay.
Residences will also feature custom-built closets, Italian bathroom vanities with stone countertops, and bespoke gourmet kitchens outfitted with integrated Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, Waterworks fixtures, and advanced smart home technology.
A 20,000-square-foot resort-style amenity deck on the 18th floor will include a 160-foot east-facing pool with bay views, a sunset pool with dual spas, elegant lounge areas, and a bar. The 18th floor will also offer private massage rooms, his and her saunas, steam rooms, a state-of-the-art fitness and movement studio, and a dedicated kids and teen entertainment club.

Another resident-exclusive amenity deck, the Peacock Alley-inspired Sky Lounge, will be located on the 46th floor and will feature a sunset bar, expansive pool deck, elegant lounge areas, and an amenity terrace.
Additional residential amenities include 24-hour access to a personal concierge, valet parking, doorman and bellman services, and a selection of a la carte services.
