Less than a month after St. Pete Rising exclusively reported plans for the 49-story Waldorf Astoria Residences at 150 2nd Avenue South in downtown St. Pete, the project has undergone a significant redesign. 

New plans, expected to be filed later this month, reveal that the luxury condominium tower will no longer be designed by New York-based SLCE Architects. 

Instead, the tower will be designed by Miami-based CUBE 3.

While the building's overall function remains largely the same, its design has seen dramatic changes compared to the initial release in August.

New details and preliminary renderings have been revealed for a proposed five-star hotel-branded luxury condominium tower planned for 150 2nd Avenue South in downtown St. Pete.  

Last month, the owners of the 12-story City Center office building sent a notice to its tenants that they were exploring redevelopment opportunities for the building’s six-story parking garage. The office building would not be impacted by the redevelopment.

It was later reported that the owners were planning a luxury condominium tower branded under the Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts name as the Waldorf Astoria Residences St. Petersburg.

New details have been revealed for a proposed development on 2nd Avenue South that will bring the first hotel-branded luxury condominium tower to downtown St. Pete.

Earlier this month, the owners of the 12-story City Center office building at 100 2nd Avenue South announced to its tenants that they were exploring redevelopment opportunities for the building’s six-story parking garage, which is located at 150 2nd Avenue South. 

The parking garage currently serves tenants of the City Center building, which is owned through a joint venture by Feldman Equities, City Office REIT, and Tower Realty Partners.
