Bicyclists and walkers on the Pinellas Trail will soon be able to cool down and reenergize with flavorful iced coffee drinks.

Nippy Iced Coffee, a new mobile coffee concept exclusively selling iced coffee and fruity drinks, will open its first location in St. Pete’s Warehouse Arts District later this month.

The truck will be parked along the Pinellas Trail directly behind Foodie Labs, a culinary incubator with a mix of ghost kitchens and shared spaces on the ArtsXchange campus at 515 22nd Street South.

"We've been bringing our coffee to pop-up events in Florida, but this will be our first home," Nippy Iced Coffee Director of Operations Linda Gordon said to St. Pete Rising.

"This will be our proof of concept [before exploring a brick-and-mortar operation]."

Gordon, who will man the truck, met Nippy Coffee Founder Sebastian Raatz a year ago through networking and started to work with him on the concept.

"I really wanted to bring the concept to St. Pete. And we love everything about the Warehouse Arts District," Gordon said.

Nippy Iced Coffee is working with Foodie Labs in a collaborative partnership to help grow and scale their business.

"Foodie Labs is helping us with marketing and promoting the brand. We will also be utilizing their kitchen for our needed ice supply," Gordon said.

The brand, founded in Miami, makes playful jabs at hot coffee on social media with posts reading "iced coffee is superior" and using the hashtag "#BanHotCoffee."

Nippy Iced Coffee's menu, which is still under development, will include a vanilla draft oat milk cold brew latte and a strawberry draft oat milk matcha latte made with strawberry puree.

The truck will also serve fruity refreshers with or without boba.

Nippy Iced Coffee will debut on July 18th.  The iced coffee truck will be open every day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

To celebrate their St. Pete opening, Nippy Iced Coffee drinks will be priced at “72.7 cents” from the 18th through the 21st.

"We can't wait for people to try our coffee and come chill with us," Gordon said.

In the future, Nippy Iced Coffee's items may be available for delivery via DoorDash and Uber Eats, but for now customers will only be able to purchase the iced drinks from the Nippy truck.
