Aldi has quietly opened its newest Pinellas County location at 12975 Park Boulevard in Seminole, bringing the fast-growing discount grocer into a redeveloped shopping center that once housed a Winn-Dixie.
A grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting ceremony will take place next Thursday, December 11th at 8:45 a.m.
The new Seminole store occupies 23,778 square feet of the former 64,000-square-foot Winn-Dixie building. The remaining 35,368 square feet of space is currently available for lease.
The building also includes the 5,000-square-foot Sign of the Dolphin gallery, a longtime retailer known for coastal décor.

To celebrate the opening, the first 100 customers on December 11th will receive a Golden Ticket gift card worth up to $100 along with a complimentary bag of Aldi goodies. Shoppers can also scan signs placed throughout the store for a chance to win a $500 Aldi gift card.
The Seminole location opens as Aldi continues its significant expansion across St. Petersburg and the surrounding area.
Earlier this fall, Aldi debuted a new store on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street North after converting a former Winn-Dixie.
Another conversion is underway in the Bayview Shopping Plaza on 4th Street North, where Aldi is renovating a former Winn-Dixie following the company’s acquisition of Southeastern Grocers, the parent company of both Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket.

These stores join existing St. Pete locations, including one on 22nd Avenue North and another on 34th Street South.
In 2024, Aldi acquired Southeastern Grocers as part of a $9 billion expansion plan set to unfold over five years and wrap up in 2028.
The company originally intended to convert hundreds of Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket stores to the Aldi format but later scaled that back to 220 locations after selling a portion of those stores back to a consortium of investors led by SEG’s current CEO and president, Anthony Hucker.
The company continues to build out its footprint through a streamlined store model focused on efficiency and affordability, offering a curated mix of private-label groceries, fresh produce, organic options, and weekly limited-time specials.
With the Seminole store now open and additional St. Petersburg locations on the way, Aldi is expanding its availability across more neighborhoods, providing shoppers with increased access to value-focused groceries as the company accelerates its Florida growth plans.
Aldi stores are typically open every day from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
