Kahwa opens long-awaited Fourth Street coffee shop
After a nearly four-year stretch, Kahwa Coffee has opened its newest drive-thru coffee shop at 6601 Fourth Street North in St. Petersburg.
The shop, which is built from repurposed shipping containers, was initially expected to debut in 2020; however, there were reportedly permitting issues and other headwinds.
The new Fourth Street drive-thru offers Kahwa's full menu of pastries and sandwiches.
While there isn't any indoor seating, there is a walk-up ordering window and some outdoor seating. The drive-thru cafe is open every day from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Kahwa uses 100% premium quality Arabica beans selected from various origins.
Kahwa, founded in 2006 by the husband-and-wife team of Raphael and Sarah Perrier, has become the largest independent coffee roaster in the state.
The home-grown company's first cafe opened in downtown St. Pete that same year.
In September 2022, the Kahwa team took another big step in its evolution with the launch of a franchising system.
Last year, Kahwa opened its first South St. Pete storefront in Coquina Key.
Today, the beloved St. Pete roaster has 15 retail locations and over 800 wholesale customers.
Its wholesale products can be found in hotels, local restaurants, Publix locations throughout the Tampa Bay area, and in the new Whole Foods Market in St. Pete.
