A 76 million year old dinosaur will sit atop a parking garage in downtown St. Pete's EDGE District

Imagine stepping out of your car and finding yourself face-to-face with a creature that roamed the planet 76 million years ago.

Tampa-based developer Ellison Development has unveiled plans for a high-rise rooftop garden atop a newly opened 540-space parking garage in the EDGE District, where the glass-encased skeleton of a Gorgosaurus will be the centerpiece.

By our account, it will be the first dinosaur ever displayed on top of a parking garage anywhere in the world.

The one-acre rooftop attraction is part of The Central, a $200 million mixed-use project currently in development at 1301 Central Avenue.

First look inside the 42-story Art House condo tower set to open this fall in downtown St. Pete

Three years after breaking ground, downtown St. Pete’s skyline is about to welcome its newest addition: Art House, a 42-story luxury condominium tower set to begin move-ins this October.

Located at 235 1st Avenue South, adjacent to 200 Central, the city’s tallest office tower, Art House is being developed by Kolter Urban, the South Florida-based firm behind ONE St. Petersburg and Saltaire.

The general contractor is Coastal Construction, with design contributions from SB Architects, ID & Design International, and Kimley-Horn. Smith & Associates is serving as the exclusive broker for the condo tower.

During a hard hat tour this week, St. Pete Rising got an exclusive look inside the tower, which has been under construction since mid-2022.

A cozy new yarn shop and coffee shop is weaving its way into the Warehouse Arts District this summer.

The Common Thread is opening this August at 2462 5th Avenue South, in the location that previously housed HaleLife Bakery and Bistro, and before that, The Chelsea coffee shop.

Nicole Potts Hart of KW Commercial represented both O’Brien and the property owner in the lease transaction.

Founder Shannon O’Brien, a longtime crocheter and San Francisco transplant who made St. Pete her permanent home in 2022, had been searching for a local yarn shop in St. Pete.
