Aerial St. Pete: Photos from the sky of construction around St. Petersburg

In this article we are taking a look at The Legacy at Jordan Park, Lake Maggiore Apartments, The EDGE Collective, Park & Main, The METRO, and Whole Foods.


 The Legacy at Jordan Park
2350 9th Avenue South 

Jordan Park is a 20-acre property first built in 1939 at 2350 9th Avenue South. It is the state of Florida’s oldest public housing site. In 2022, the St. Pete Housing Authority broke ground on renovations to the community.

Plans for the $93.3 million redevelopment call for demolishing 31 existing senior units to construct a new senior housing building. The new three-story building, named The Legacy at Jordan Park, will comprise of 54 one-bedroom units and six two-bedroom units and will front 9th Avenue South adjacent to the existing Carter G. Woodson African American Museum

Construction is expected to wrap up on the new senior housing building later this year.


Lake Maggiore Apartments
3049 6th Street South

The Lake Maggiore Apartments is a 330-unit mixed-income apartment community proposed for 3049 6th Street South. Stoneweg US, a St. Pete-based investment firm, is developing the project.

It will include 66 workforce housing units catering to households making between 80% and 120% of Area Median Income (AMI). Community greenspace will include a dog park and community gardens planned for the west side of the property. The community will also include 358 parking spaces – above the 293 required.

Construction began in 2022 and is being led by NDC Construction. Expected completion is in 2024.


EDGE Collective
1234-1246 Central Avenue

The Edge Collective is a mixed-use development that is under construction on a 1.6-acre site at 1234-1246 Central Avenue in the EDGE District. The project is a joint venture between Miami-based PTM Partners and Fort Lauderdale-based and DoveHill Capital Management. Site preparations began in mid-2022 and the building topped out in early 2023.

Anchoring the Edge Collective development will be a 163-key Moxy Hotel by Marriott, which will be the first lifestyle hotel in the EDGE District. St. Pete-based Storyn Studio is the lead architect for the hotel and Kellogg & Kimsey is serving as the general contractor.

Complimenting the hotel will be an outdoor garden and retail paseo as well as a refurbished four-story 17,000 square foot building located adjacent to the planned Moxy Hotel. 

The hotel is expected to open in late 2023 and will include Rose’s Coffee Bar and Sparrow, a rooftop bar.


Park & Main
221 Main Street North

Park & Main, formerly Echelon Site 9, is a 17-story apartment building under construction on a 1.88-acre site at 221 Main Street North in the Carillon business park in north St. Pete. It is being developed by St. Pete-based Echelon.

The building will include 176 luxury apartments and ground floor retail space overlooking a 0.4-acre park. It will top out at 176 feet, becoming the tallest building in the city outside of downtown St. Pete.  

Park & Main was designed by ARC3 Architecture. KAST Construction is serving as the general contractor for the project. Construction is expected to wrap up in 2024.


The Metro
77 11th Street North

The Metro is a seven-story building that is nearing completion at 77 11th Street North. The building was developed by Michigan-based DevMar Development was sold in February for $28.2 million to Global Asset Capital, a real estate investment firm based in Palo Alto, California.

The building will feature 100 fully furnished, apartment-style, extended-stay units that will be leased under the Mint House brand. It was constructed by West Palm Beach-based KAST Construction and includes amenities such as a resort-style pool, fitness center, bike rental program, and offsite valet parking.


Whole Foods Market
201 38th Avenue North

A Whole Foods Market building a 40,000 square foot grocery store at 201-205 38th Avenue North. The property is also expected to have over 200 parking spaces.

 The organic grocery store is being co-developed by St. Pete-based J Square Developers and Georgia-based SJ Collins.

It is expected to open later this year.
