Bayfront Health completes new emergency room near Tyrone in west St. Petersburg

Bayfront Health Emergency Room – Crossroads IS LOCATED AT 1800 66TH sTREET noRTH | ORLANDO HEALTH

Bayfront Health St. Petersburg has announced the completion of a four-story standalone emergency room in the Crossroads neighborhood of west. St. Petersburg.  It will open for patients on Monday, June 19th.

Located at 1800 66th Street North, the 42,000 square foot building was announced in June 2021 and broke ground in March 2022. The building contains a 14,000 square foot emergency room located on the ground floor. The second and third floor contain space for future medical offices. 

The emergency room will include 12 exam rooms, including two resuscitation rooms, six waiting areas, and an ambulance bay.

The $37 million project is the latest development in the Bayfront Health St. Petersburg system, which was acquired by Orlando Health in 2020. Orlando Health is a the 3,238-bed healthcare system that includes 23 hospitals and emergency departments.  

The healthcare system has several other developments in the works for St. Petersburg, FL. 

In September 2022, Bayfront Health announced that it would build a build a three-story, 60,000-square-foot Women’s Pavilion at 700 6th Street South on the east side of its downtown St. Petersburg campus. The building slated to open in late 2024.  

And in November 2022, Bayfront Health announced plans for a four-story, 132,000-square-foot medical office building at 5th Avenue South and 7th Street that is slated to open in late 2025. The medical office building, named Bayfront Health Medical Pavilion – Institute Square, will focus on cancer and orthopedic care through a partnership with the Florida Cancer Specialists Institute and Women’s Care.
