Vertical construction begins on 40-unit Castille Urbana in downtown St. Pete

CASTILLE URBANA IS A 40-UNIT CONDO BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT 600 3RD AVENUE SOTUH | njr dEVELOPMENT

A construction milestone has been reached on Castille Urbana, the latest project by NJR Investment & Development Company.

The five-story building at 600 3rd Avenue South in downtown St. Petersburg will feature 40 condominiums with two- and three-bedroom floor plans, ranging from 1,158 to 1,650 square feet.

The developer has announced the completion of the building’s podium and says vertical construction will begin ahead of schedule. The one-story podium will contain the building’s parking garage and lobby area and will be topped by four floors of condominium residences.

“This area has seen other developers announcing construction delays. We’re proud to have finished the podium and are preparing for vertical construction ahead of our planned schedule,” says Neil J. Rauenhorst, President and CEO of NJR. “We’re very excited to be able to offer even more people the opportunity to live the downtown lifestyle in St. Petersburg. 

Plans for Castille Urbana were announced by St. Pete Rising in December 2021 with reservations for the residences beginning in 2022. Interest in the building is high with several floor plans having only one unit remaining.

Castille urbana is located on the same block as domus urbana, which was completed earlier this year.

The success of Castille Urbana comes as no surprise given the success of its sister property, Domus Urbana, which also features 40-unit and was completed earlier this year.

While downtown St. Pete has seen record condominium development, most projects are highly-amenitized condo towers that come with high price points, with starting prices for most tower projects in the $900,000’s.

As a mid-rise building, pricing for Castille Urbana begins in the $600,000’s.

The building is set to feature amenities including a community room, fitness center, dog run, and the option for a private electric car charging station.

In addition to Castille Urbana, NJR Construction Group has started site preparations for Claridge Lane Townhomes, a 15-unit townhome development slated for 3rd Street South and 4th Avenue South, across from Camden Pier District.

NJR expects to deliver Castille Urbana in 2024. NJR Construction Group is serving as the general contractor for the development.
