The Job Site Stuffed Burgers opens this week in the Grand Central District

A new burger spot called The Job Site will have a soft opening at the end of this week at 2063 Central Avenue in the Grand Central District. The space was formerly occupied by Evil Don Tattoos, which moved a few doors down to 17 21st Street North.

The Job Site is blessing our food community with custom, stuffed burgers! You heard us right – stuffed burgers!

The Waffle Burger - A burger stuffed with maple syrup and cream cheese and then topped off with a sunny-side-up egg and bacon before being placed in between two waffles instead of a bun.

This fun and innovative restaurant has an array of stuffing options that you can have cooked into your massive burger such as shrimp, plantains, chopped bacon, spinach, pineapple, ham, a variety of cheeses, and so much more. You can stuff as many items into your burger as your stomach, wallet, and the width of your mouth can handle.

The Job Site allows you to flex your creative muscles by determining every ingredient that goes into your burger -- from the bun (Hawaiian, brioche, whole wheat, pretzel, waffle, or ciabatta) to a specialty meat choice (beef and chorizo blend, chicken, or veggie-based), toppings (guacamole, egg, crispy onions, kale salad, sauces, cheeses, etc.), and most importantly, the stuffing.

For those who may be looking for pre-built burger combinations, there are several signature burgers for you to choose from.

Order The Crane and you’ll get a burger stuffed with cream cheese, sweet plantain, and chimichurri, and then topped with guacamole, melted Monterrey and cheddar cheese, a sunny-side-up egg, bacon, crispy onion, and homemade BBQ sauce.

This unique concept brings something new to the burger industry similar to what Blaze Pizza and Pieology brought to the pizza industry – the ability to customize your food combinations and build your final product.

The Job Site is easily identifiable from Central Avenue with its new mural adorning the outside wall, which was brought to life by local artists The Vitale Brothers. The mural highlights the construction theme that drives the “build your own” concept.

Upon entering the restaurant, one might assume that the interior isn’t done yet. However, the theme is driven by a factory vibe that is anything but formal or fine dining. Just like at a construction site, get prepared to get your hands dirty!

Start the building process at two kiosks equipped with screens that direct you to choose your meat, bun, stuffing, and toppings. You can also choose fries and a beverage to complete your meal.

Behind the scenes, your customized burger will be built with between 8 to 11 ounces of protein plus the stuffing. Once the burger is assembled, it’s placed on a conveyor belt broiler with flames on both the top and the bottom. This process ensures that your burger is consistently cooked to perfection each time you visit the Job Site.

After the three-minute cook time, your burger is wrapped in aluminum foil and a text is sent to your phone letting you know that it’s time to feast. You can choose to dine in at one of the picnic tables inside or outside the restaurant or take your creation with you so you can stuff your face in the privacy of your own home.

The stuffed burger concept was started years ago at a Puerto Rican restaurant owned by Leo Caicedo called La Fondita in Clearwater, FL. The “Monster Burger” was a favorite menu item with its specialty ground beef combined with chorizo and stuffed with plantains and shrimp. It was in such high demand that Leo decided to build a brand around stuffed burgers.

When looking for a location, Leo fell in love with St. Pete and knew this idea would resonate with the community. Not only will burger aficionados love The Job Site, but Leo also wants the restaurant to be a place where people don’t need to take themselves too seriously.

To keep with the “get your hands dirty” theme, there is a full wash station in the back of the restaurant. Escape the pretense, ditch the forks and knives, and dig into delicious food that came from your creative brain to the broiler and then into your empty stomach (trust us, you will want to come hungry).

The Job Site Burgers is expected to soft open to the public by the end of the week at 2063 Central Avenue.
