Valkyrie Doughnuts opens this Saturday in the Grand Central District

It seems like only yesterday when Celine Duvoisin walked down Central Avenue to announce the opening of Valhalla Bakery with a handful of flyers and an overflowing box of her signature desserts.

Ever since the grand opening at the end of 2018, Valhalla Bakery has been consistently satisfying our sugar cravings and dressing up our Instagram timelines. But as Valhalla Bakery’s popularity has increased, so has the demand for one of their best-selling treats—Doughnuts!

From the very beginning, Duvoisin says the most asked question has been, “When will you have doughnuts?” And now she is giving us the answer we’ve been waiting for.

It’s time to change into your stretchy pants because Duvoisin’s newest venture, Valkyrie Doughnuts, opens this Saturday the 17th at 2444 Central Avenue, only four doors down from Valhalla Bakery.

St. Pete’s plea for a doughnut shop became evident as soon as Valhalla Bakery opened their doors on National Doughnut Day last June. Duvoisin made a special batch of 500 doughnuts that sold out in less than an hour. Ever since then, Valhalla Bakery has sold out of small batches of doughnuts each weekend.

The response has been overwhelming, and the message was heard loud and clear. St. Pete wants more doughnuts.

How many doughnuts will Valkyrie offer on opening day? “As many as we can make!” Duvoisin laughed. Expect to see customer favorites like Choco-Lit, Double Choco-Lit, Blueberry French Toast, Strawberry Sprankle, Churro, and Dunkaroo.

With an entire kitchen dedicated to doughnut production, Valkyrie will be able to pump out up to one thousand doughnuts per day. Hopefully we’ll never again have to hear the words, “Sorry, doughnuts are sold out!”

It’s important to note that unlike Valhalla’s offerings, Valkyrie Doughnuts does not claim vegan, but it is however 100% egg and dairy-free with most of the doughnuts being vegan friendly. “We have a fruity pebbles topping that is not considered 100% vegan,” says Duvoisin.

As for pricing, $4 will get you a single doughnut (but you’ll want more), $20 for a half dozen (you’re close), and $36 for a dozen (arrival to the promised land). Nugs, which are Valkyrie’s version of the doughnut hole will cost $5 for a cup (13 count), $10 for a box (30 count), and $29 for a party (100 count) – who doesn’t love a party?

Valkyrie Doughnuts will be located at 2444 Central Avenue and will debut to the public this Saturday. Their hours will be 7 AM to 3 PM on Wednesday through Thursday, 7 AM to 7 PM Friday through Sunday and closed on Monday and Tuesday.

As Saturday morning swiftly approaches, schedules will be cleared, cars will be packed, and alarms will be set, so make sure that you stay connected to Valkyrie’s Instagram page for any updates.
