A new coffee spot serving locally made bagels and pastries is opening in Seminole.

Couple Charles and Brittany Frost are weeks away from opening for their new cafe, Crave Coffee + Market, at 9358 Oakhurst Road in the Publix-anchored Oakhurst Plaza.

The shop will open this spring in a space previously home to coffee shop AuLeche.

"Our family mantra is 'create what you crave.' We are embracing our love of coffee and passion for bringing the community together," Brittany said to St. Pete Rising.

"We live in Seminole and both work from home, and when we are out and about or want to work away from home, we always end up at a coffee shop in St. Pete because of the vibe.”

Working with restaurant broker Don Mason, the couple discovered AuLeche in Seminole was shutting down and offered to take over the lease and buy the equipment.

Brittany, a podcaster, and Charles, who works in sales, received the keys a week ago for the space that they are currently repainting and refurnishing for Crave Coffee + Market’s March debut.

"The design and decor will be a nod to the farmhouse style. Think of the style from Joanna Gaines [Co-star of the HGTV home renovation show Fixer Upper], but it will have more of a Florida boho interior design."

Crave Coffee + Market will have bar seating and indoor seating with terrazzo-top tables, comfy accent chairs, and an outdoor patio table.

The duo is finalizing the drink menu, which will include matcha, chai, and other tea options.

They will source coffee beans from St. Pete roaster Look Alive Coffee for their cold brews on tap and signature espresso drinks like a "Cold Fashioned," a fun non-alcoholic twist on an old fashioned cocktail, and the "Sunshine State," an espresso drink with orange and vanilla flavoring.

Crave Coffee + Market will also create cereal milk lattes, a trendy specialty coffee beverage combining cereal-infused milk with espresso.

While the space isn't equipped with a full commercial kitchen or vent hood, the couple is partnering with a longtime local favorite, Pete's Bagels, which will provide bagels and pastries.

"Customers urged the previous business owner to offer food and gluten-free options and we want to be able to fill that need," Brittany said.

Additionally, a fridge and display will be stocked with grab-and-go items like juices, bottled drinks, salads, parfaits, and wraps, including gluten-free options.

There will also be a small retail section with candles from Nightshift Wax Co., and mugs, planners, journals, and more merchandise made by other local artisans and vendors.

The shop hopes to attract remote workers by having fast, free WiFi and plenty of comfy chairs along with a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Brittany may utilize the space to record episodes for her podcast, The Self Care Sisterhood, which discusses the female empowerment of self-discovery, purpose, and authenticity.
