Slim Charmer, a new martini bar from the owners of Wild Child, opens in the Grand Central District

Slim Charmer, a cocktail parlour and tasting room, is located at 2706 Central Avenue in the Grand Central District | St. Pete Rising

Nestled in a charming 1940s building, a New York–style cocktail parlor and tasting room has arrived in St. Petersburg, offering martinis and eclectic small plates.

From Matt Kaye and Rob Reinsmith—the duo behind the popular Wild Child restaurant—comes Slim Charmer, an intimate, 26-seat martini lounge located next to Wild Child’s patio at 2706 Central Avenue in the Grand Central District.

Kaye hopes the 800-square-foot space, named after a former nickname for his wife, will stand out as an innovative destination where guests can savor the unexpected and explore flavors not found elsewhere.

Both the food and drink menu will rotate frequently based on the season and available ingredients.

A menu of ten martinis takes center stage, with current options like the Freezer Door Martini, made with Grey Goose Vodka or Ford’s Gin, vermouth, Fino sherry, and your choice of olives, twist, or onion.

The Watercolours Martini features St. George Botanivore gin, strawberry, rhubarb, fennel honey, Italicus, clarified lemon, and bergamot air.

Of course, you can’t have a martini bar in 2025 without an Espresso Martini. Slim Charmer’s version includes vanilla and tonka bean vodka, coffee liqueur, fresh espresso, and espresso olio.

There’s also a selection of three zero-proof martinis for non-drinkers.

If martinis aren’t your thing, Slim Charmer also offers five classic cocktails with a twist—like a Yuzu Highball with Suntory Toki Japanese whiskey, yuzu liqueur, and sparkling yuzu, and a French 75 with Roku gin, blackberry, tarragon, lemon, and champagne.

Chef Scott Grimm leads the food program with a menu that currently includes toasts, raw seafood, small plates, a large plate, and a dessert.

From the toast menu, you’ll find the Stracciatella and Caviar Toast with pickled shallots, Meyer lemon, chives, and focaccia.

Highlights from the small plates include Roasted Carrots and Fava Beans with goat cheese feta, cured olives, mint, and fried shallots, and 'Nduja-Stuffed, Bacon-Wrapped Dates with salsa rossa.

The raw menu features oysters, crudo misto, hamachi, steak tartare, and chilled razor clams.

The large plate is a 16-ounce dry-aged New York strip with ramp butter, roasted garlic, arugula, and parmesan.

For dessert, Slim Charmer currently offers a Salted Caramel and Milk Chocolate Tart topped with whipped crème fraîche.

With just 26 seats, this popular new St. Pete spot fills up fast—arrive early (or late) to snag a seat.

Slim Charmer is open Wednesday and Thursday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to midnight. The lounge does not accept reservations.
