St. Pete Meat & Provisions to launch digital butcher in downtown St. Pete
/There’s no doubt COVID-19 has had a drastic effect on both the retail and hospitality landscape. Over the past few months, we’ve seen many local shops completely pivot their business model in order to stay afloat. Bars have started selling cocktails to go, breweries have added food menus, and many retailers have opened online stores.
On Thursday, one of the most well-respected chefs in Tampa Bay, Chef David Benstock of IL Ritorno, will launch a brand new digital butcher case stocked with beef, poultry, pork, special ‘Butcher’s Cuts’ such as lamb and veal, as well as an array of specialty provisions including handcrafted seasonings, rubs, salad dressings, cooking oils, and more.
St. Pete Meat & Provisions will launch exclusively online, allowing customers to select the exact cuts they want from the comfort of their own home. Orders will be made on their website, www.stpetemeat.com, or by phone, and pickup is available Mon - Sat from 10:30am - 6:00pm at Benstock’s newer concept, Greenstock, located at 449 Central Avenue in downtown St. Petersburg.
“I saw an opportunity to serve the St. Pete community, presenting a new approach to buying restaurant quality meats and cooking products,” said Partner and Chef David Benstock. “Consumers have largely embraced e-commerce for their grocery purchases since COVID-19 took the world by storm, and I believe my guests should have access to restaurant quality food without having to step foot in a restaurant or specialty market.”
Sample menu items include: Duck Breast, Eggs, Filet Mignon, NY Strip, Hickory Smoked Bacon, Pork Loin, Veal Osso Bucco, Lamb Sausage, Chimichurri Marinated Skirt Steak, Brussel Sprout Kimchi, Hummus, Housemade Spaghetti, and Truffle Oil. The menu will change frequently, and will always feature a selection of ‘Weekly Butcher’s Cuts’.
Benstock will also offer fan favorites from his other concepts at St. Pete Meat & Provisions. IL Ritorno’s Steak Seasoning and Greenstock’s Housemade Salad Dressings (Fresno Blue Cheese, Balsamic Vinaigrette, Ranch and Tahini Turmeric) will be available for purchase.
St. Pete Meat & Provisions is a creative collaboration between local restaurateurs David and Erica Benstock, along with entrepreneurs and Greenstock partners Brooke Boyd, owner of Hype Group and Peter Boyd, owner of Boyd Construction Company.
